Dr. Lisa Chavez

Seattle Specialist in Allergies, Anxiety, Hormones, Dysautonomia, Chronic Fatigue, & Digestive Health

Dr. Lisa is a Naturopathic Physician who specializes in allergies, anxiety, digestive health, hormone balance, migraines, insomnia, chronic fatigue, SIBO and other chronic complex conditions. Dr Lisa left her hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah  for Seattle to study engineering at the University of Washington. With less than a year to complete her computer engineering degree she took a Biology course and realized the poetry of Biology and Chemistry were more alluring than circuitry and coding. She completed her B.S. in Cell and Molecular Biology and a research fellowship in Neuroendocrinology at the UW. She discovered that horseradish root and albumin could be used to illuminate neuropeptides without radioactivity, which brought her to Bastyr University. She intended to do continue lab research until she was introduced to the modalities of Craniosacral therapy, Constitutional Homeopathy and the love of interacting with patients instead of rat brains.

In her last year of medical school at Bastyr University she led a group of students and doctors to India for a Clinical Pilot Study on the efficacy of Craniosacral Therapy for reducing the psychoemotional and physical symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress in refugees and victims of torture in 2006. This statistically significant research is to be published in a peer reviewed journal.

Dr. Lisa has also pursued additional training in Craniosacral Therapy, Constitutional Homeopathy, NAET, a non-invasive Allergy Elimination Technique, Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnotherapy. She loves helping patients do healing work around the issues of anxiety, depression, post traumatic stress, migraines, allergy amelioration, hormone conditions like hypothyroidism, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), menopause, infertility and unusual endocrine conditions. Dr. Lisa is well versed in integrative psychiatry, including the appropriate and beneficial management – safely weaning off or initiating-prescription antidepressants, homeopathic remedies, cognitive behavioral therapy, brainspotting and mind training (meditation). Her holistic approach to patient care includes counseling that addresses your individual needs: be it nutritional or emotional nourishment, balance of botanical and conventional medication, nutrient support for neurotransmitters, bio-identical hormone therapy (BHRT) and removing obstacles to rebalancing the Parasympathetic Nervous System.

Dr Lisa is the tenth of twelve children, and the mother of a delightful daughter. She has been a student of Buddhism and meditation since she began traveling to India in 1996. She is passionate about educating and advocating for her patients and likes to share her love of analogy, biochemistry, delicious nutritious food, and working with neurotransmitters, hormones, the immune system and the mind.
